Events Over the years
The Community Kitchen of Torrington is a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization that is not supported by any state or federal funding. Our community keeps us going!
Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, we were able to hold multiple fundraisers throughout the year that not only filled our shelves but also brought the community together.
Empty Bowls
Our annual "Empty Bowls" fundraiser is something the entire community looks forward to! Local students and artisans donate hand-crafted ceramic bowls, while local chefs and restaurants donate their talents in the form of delicious soups to fill them.
We top it off with a penny auction and silent raffle! Fun is had by all involved, everyone leaves with a beautiful memory and a full belly!
During this Covid 19 pandemic, the Community Kitchen of Torrington continues to nourish food insecure people with daily nutritious lunch and breakfast. These meals are served through a kitchen window. Please consider helping us to meet the increased demand for meals.
Help Us Provide The Basics!
Big or small, monthly or one-time, cash or food - every donation counts and helps us better serve our communities and their residents. Please consider making a donation today.
